Rhinoplasty can be a very complicated operation, perhaps the most challenging operation in all of cosmetic surgery. Revision rhinoplasty can be even more challenging since the support structure of the nose is often already weakened significantly, and new surgical results have to fight against old scar tissue. These two factors are the major reasons why Dr. White’s approach to revision rhinoplasty often involves placement of cartilage grafts in the nose, which he usually obtains from the nasal septum or ear cartilages. Dr. White will review with you what your nose looked like before surgery, what the current aesthetic result is, and then how you will proceed together to achieve the nose that you desire.
Dr. White will perform a full examination and make sure to address any issues related to nasal breathing as well. This is often a major concern since many surgeons make the nose smaller and remove too much of the supporting cartilages, which leads to blockage of the nasal breathing passages and nasal sidewall collapse. The nasal septum is often not addressed appropriately or at all, which leaves problems with nasal breathing that might be worse than prior to surgery.
Dr. White has patients from North Miami and around the world who come to him for his unique expertise in rhinoplasty. If you feel that you are a candidate for revision rhinoplasty, please contact Dr. White and our staff to schedule your personal, very thorough rhinoplasty consultation.
