Particularly here in South Florida, a lot of patients want to improve the curves on the backside and want more curves on each buttock. When you consider the fashion trend of tightly fitting clothing, workout pants, and thong bikinis, it is no wonder why the butt lift procedure has gained so much attention!
Advantages of Brazilian Butt Lift over Implants
Today, you have options for a shapelier, more prominent derriere. If you are a good candidate for this procedure, our Miami Brazilian butt lift can provide all the benefits of buttocks implants without the drawbacks. Advantages of the Brazilian butt lift include:
- Body sculpting: While implants enhance the buttocks only, with the Brazilian butt lift you also gain the advantages of liposuction to slim and sculpt your body, such as the belly, hips, flanks, and lower back. Your curves can be further enhanced for an hour-glass look by trimming other others areas and augmenting the buttocks. Fat harvested from body areas with excess fatty deposits is first purified and then injected into the buttocks for long-lasting, immediately visible results.
- No incision scars: Incisions are required to insert and place buttocks implants. This leaves you with scars that may not be entirely concealed by a swimsuit. As injections are used to transfer fat to the buttocks in a Brazilian butt lift, there is no incision scar. Tiny incisions, discreetly placed, are made to harvest the fat with liposuction, but scarring is typically minimal.
- Results that look and feel natural: As the buttocks are augmented by natural fat transfer in the Brazilian butt lift procedure, there is no worry about potential complications associated with butt implants – capsular contracture, rupture, or shifting of the implants. After butt augmentation with implants, some patients can feel them when they sit. With a Brazilian butt lift in Miami, the results not only look but also feel completely natural – with no fear of rejection or other complications.
Who Is a Good Candidate for the Brazilian Butt Lift?
The ideal candidate for a natural fat transfer butt lift is a person with extra fat in the abdomen, waist, hips, thighs, and lower back. The main factors that determine if you are a good candidate are your weight, and the presence of excess fat on your body.
In the Brazilian butt lift procedure, fat is harvested from stubborn deposits in other areas, purified, and then transferred to the buttocks, as only a portion the harvested fat is usable. There needs to be 3 or 4 times as much fat available for harvesting as will be needed to perform the procedure. Intra-abdominal fat (around the organs in the abdominal cavity) cannot be harvested. Only excess fat that can be grabbed with your hands, such as “love handles” are appropriate for use in natural fat transfer.
The best way to find out if you are a good candidate for the Brazilian butt lift in Miami is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Jeremy White. After evaluating your body, he can tell you if you have enough accessible body fat to be a good candidate for this procedure.
Brazilian Butt Lift Procedure
A butt lift can be performed on its own or in combination with other procedures, as one part of a more comprehensive body contouring plan. Dr. White will custom-tailor a Brazilian butt lift procedure to help you achieve the curvaceous bottom that you envision. The procedure may be performed under local anesthesia, sedation, or general anesthesia.
In the first portion of the Brazilian butt lift, liposuction is performed to harvest fat for augmenting the buttocks. Dr. White will make small, discretely placed incision in a region with excess fat, insert a thin tube called a “cannula,” and gently extract the fat. This process is repeated to sculpt the waist, hips, belly, and other areas, and to obtain enough fat for use in enhancing the buttocks.
In the next step of the procedure, the fat cells that have been removed from fatty deposits are purified using a centrifuge. Only the most viable, healthy fat cells are selected for re-injection into the buttocks.
Finally, the purified fat is injected, using tiny cannulas, at various levels into the buttocks. The result is a rounder, fuller, perkier rear with a fully natural look and feel.
Brazilian Butt Lift Recovery
You can expect some bruising and swelling in the areas where liposuction was performed, and any resulting pain can be easily controlled with medication. Most patients are up and walking within a day or two after the procedure. You will be wearing a compression garment to ensure that the areas where the fat was harvested heal as they should, and to help minimize swelling, decrease discomfort, and help in healing the skin layer.
It is important not to sit directly on the buttocks for approximately eight weeks after the procedure to avoid restricting your blood circulation and destroying the newly transferred fat cells. Most patients can return to all of your normal activities in just six to eight weeks after the Brazilian butt lift procedure is complete.
