dermal fillers are ideal
As we age, we lose volume in the face and start to develop wrinkles around the mouth, forehead, eyes, and other areas.
Dermal fillers are an excellent way to restore this volume loss with minimal to no bruising and no downtime! Certain fillers are available “off the shelf” in Miami's ARC Plastic Surgery office, and many of these contain numbing medication.
In addition to the medication within the filler, Dr. Jeremy White uses a specially compounded numbing cream to make your experience comfortable and relaxing. These dermal fillers are ideal for softening wrinkles that are present when facial muscles are not activated, which makes them excellent tools to use alone or in conjunction with Botox / Dysport / Xeomin.
the best, natural-looking results
Dermal fillers are a gel-like substance that, when injected beneath the skin's surface, are used to make the skin look smoother, fuller, or both. At ARC Plastic Surgery, our team uses multiple different types of fillers to give you the best, natural-looking results. Each one has its own specialty and purpose. Dr. White will discuss all of your options and create a plan that works best for your needs.
satisfying results
Restylane, Juvederm, Juvederm Voluma, Vollure, Volbella, & Belotero: These are off-the-shelf hyaluronic acid compounds, which means that they are made of some of the same components that are present in your skin. Each product is of a different consistency, which means that different ones are helpful to treat different wrinkle areas. The products last approximately 6 to 12 months, depending on where they are injected. They also have the advantage that they can be dissolved or reversed with hyaluronidase enzyme if there is a product-related problem.
This product is made of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres and is much firmer than the hyaluronic acid compounds. As such, Dr. White thinks that it is most powerful to build up weak cheekbones and a sagging jawline (off label). This product is FDA approved to treat smile lines, marionette lines, corners of the mouth, pre-jowl sulcus, and chin wrinkles. This product is also unique in that it can be used to plump and rejuvenate the hands, which is often something that is overlooked at most consultations. Radiesse has the added benefit of helping to build collagen in your skin.
This product is made of poly-L-lactic acid, the same material that is used in many absorbable sutures. This filler is different because it attempts to help your body build new collagen in depleted areas. This happens slowly over months and often requires multiple treatments. The results can last for more than two years after your last treatment, but this can vary from person to person.
Fat graft injection is a surgical procedure that is performed in the operating room. Dr. White performs liposuction, isolates the densest and purest fat cells, and then injects them into the face to restore facial volume. This procedure requires a donor area for fat and may necessitate multiple injections, but the surviving fat is permanent! Dr. White has written a book chapter on the topic of fat injection to enhance lips in “Autologous Fat Transfer.”
the best version of yourself
Most fillers contain a natural skin component that benefits the skin, which significantly helps individuals considering filler injections. Fillers contain hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring element in the skin. As a result, when they are injected, they will feel completely natural beneath your skin. You'll also appreciate how subtle and natural the results are. If you're like most patients, that's exactly what you want. After all, who wants to look like a completely different person after treatment than they did before? Simply said, you want to be the best version of yourself. The majority of people should not even notice you had dermal fillers. It's one more reason to cherish your skin.
smoother, younger-looking skin
You are an excellent candidate for dermal fillers if you want to appear your best and remove years from your face. You are ideal for dermal fillers if you want smoother, younger-looking skin. The truth is that dermal fillers are suitable for almost everybody who wishes to appear their best.
Being a good candidate for dermal filler therapy does not necessitate a lot of effort. Otherwise, healthy nonsmokers may receive the best outcomes. Fillers are intended to temporarily fill superficial tissue and are therefore an excellent choice for persons willing to repeat treatments as needed to maintain effects. Many of today's fillers can last up to two years. However, longevity can be affected by factors like lifestyle, heredity, sun habits, and the region treated.
What our clients have to say…
satisfying results
Dr. White will thoroughly analyze your facial appearance and skin tone before starting your procedure. Strategic places on your face may be indicated as suitable injection sites for the filler. An antibacterial agent will be used to clean the injection sites. If you have any pain at the injection site, a cold instrument or ice pack will help your skin, as would anesthetic ointment, to numb the treated area.
The injection itself just takes a few seconds per treated area. Dr. Jeremy will inject, massage, and evaluate the region being treated. If necessary, an additional filler may be used to ensure that you are satisfied with the results and that they satisfy your expectations. Depending on your particular treatment, the process can take anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes. This process is often described as painless, and the injections are easy for your medical expert to manage. If you do feel pain, please notify Dr. White so that it can be relieved as soon as possible.
refresh and renew!
Depending on what area you want addressed – and rejuvenated – make sure you choose the dermal filler that best meets your aesthetic needs. With a thorough consultation from the ARC Plastic Surgery Miami staff and Dr. Jeremy White, your skin will thank you for choosing to refresh and renew!
Recovery time varies depending on the filler used in a specific region. In most cases, you can resume your normal daily activities right away. Avoid strenuous physical activity for the first 24 to 48 hours to reduce swelling and bruising. Dr. White will go over the specifics of your recuperation time with you.
The effects of hyaluronic acid fillers are transitory, lasting anywhere from six months to two years before being absorbed by the body. Keep in mind that receiving optimal results with a single procedure may not be attainable. Dr. White will determine how many syringes of filler will be required to achieve your objectives during your consultation. Soft tissue fillers produce immediate results.
What our clients have to say…
Discomfort is minimal for most patients. A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment, and most dermal fillers contain lidocaine, which numbs the area as it is injected. Most patients describe brief pressure or a pinching sensation rather than pain. Treatment typically takes fifteen to forty-five minutes depending on how many areas are addressed.
The most common side effects are temporary — swelling, redness, and bruising at the injection sites, usually resolving within several days. Less common risks include lumps, asymmetry, or infection. The most serious risk, though rare, is filler being injected into a blood vessel, which is why the experience of your injector matters more than any other factor. Dr. Jeremy White is a double board-certified plastic surgeon with a detailed working knowledge of facial anatomy.
It depends on the product and the area treated. Most hyaluronic acid dermal fillers last nine to eighteen months, with thicker products placed in deeper areas such as the cheeks lasting toward the longer end of that range and softer products used in the lips metabolizing faster. Areas with a lot of movement break filler down more quickly. Results are maintained with periodic touch-up treatments rather than being permanent.
They address different causes of aging. Botox relaxes the muscles responsible for expression lines — forehead lines, frown lines, and crow's feet — so it works on wrinkles caused by movement. Dermal fillers replace volume that has been lost over time, restoring fullness to the cheeks, lips, temples, and the folds around the mouth. Many patients use both together, since one softens movement and the other rebuilds structure.
Hyaluronic acid fillers can be. An enzyme called hyaluronidase breaks the filler down, and results are typically visible within a day or two. This reversibility is a meaningful safety feature and a significant advantage of HA products, which include Juvederm and Belotero. Not every filler is reversible — collagen-stimulating products such as Sculptra and Radiesse cannot be dissolved, which is why Dr. White will explain the trade-offs before recommending a product.
Filler is priced by syringe, but the number of syringes you need is what actually determines your cost — and that varies widely. Restoring volume to both cheeks generally requires more product than refining the lips, and patients with more significant volume loss need more to achieve a balanced result. The product itself also affects price, since thicker structural fillers cost more than lighter ones. Rather than quote a per-syringe figure that may not reflect what you need, Dr. White will build a treatment plan at your consultation and give you clear pricing for it.
Different areas call for different products. The lips need a soft, flexible filler that moves naturally with expression — Juvederm Ultra XC and Volbella XC are commonly used, and our lip filler page covers this in more detail. The cheeks need a firmer, more structural product capable of lifting and supporting tissue, such as Juvederm Voluma XC or Radiesse. Matching the product to the area is what separates a natural result from an overfilled one.
