How to Prepare for Plastic Surgery
If you have decided that plastic surgery is right for you, you may feel a bit overwhelmed and nervous. The best way to prepare for plastic surgery is to read, do research, and take the steps necessary so you can have the best outcome possible. While each procedure may require you to make specific preparations, at ARC Plastic Surgery, we hope that this article can serve as a resource on how to get ready for surgery day.
Do some research on the procedure that you are going to be pursuing. There is a wealth of information online but take caution. Not all information you find online may apply to your particular situation. If you have any questions, write them down and discuss them with your plastic surgeon.
Inform Your Workplace
For more invasive procedures, you may need to request some time off from work. Inform your workplace of the time that you may be off at least two weeks in advance. Depending on your line of work, you may also need to request temporary accommodations (like lifting limitations or avoiding prolonged standing) at work until you are fully healed.
You may need help getting transportation from the surgery center to your home, and need someone to look after you while you recover in the first day or two. Make sure to make these arrangements well in advance so you can have the peace of mind that your transition from surgery to your home will go smoothly.
Surgery can be intimidating, and you may have a lot of questions or concerns along the way. Never hesitate to ask your plastic surgery team at any stage in the planning process.
